Dr. Alexis Liberto

Alexis “Lexi” Liberto, PhD, is a Clinical Pediatric Psychologist at Ochsner Children’s Hospital, specializing in the support of children with chronic health conditions. Originally from Southern California, Dr. Liberto’s foundation in discipline and excellence began with her dance training with the Orange County Starz and Jimmy Defore Dance Studios. A natural leader, she served as the Song/Pom captain at her high school in Corona before dedicating a decade to the United Spirit Association, where she mentored young cheerleaders and dancers across California, Arizona, and Utah.

Dr. Liberto’s collegiate career was equally distinguished; as a member of Hawai’i Pacific University’s nationally ranked dance team, she helped secure three NDA National Titles in the Team Performance and Hip Hop categories. After obtaining her Master of Arts in New York City—where she continued her training at the Broadway Dance Center—she pivoted toward her clinical ambitions. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 2021. She is thrilled to be working with the Shockwave Dance Team as their current interim head coach, getting back to her passion and love for dance.
